Anton "Tony" Ledvina, of Green Bay, entered Eternal Life on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 after a long illness. He was 82. He was born to Anton and Martha (Cisler) Ledvina in Kewaunee County, WI, on October 31, 1934.
Tony served in the Army, for two years during the Korean War, in the state of Washington in their missile division. When they moved back to Green Bay, he worked as a semi-truck driver for Fairmont Dairy Foods and retired from there in 1991.
When he was in better health, he enjoyed time at their cabin on Bass Lake, fishing and woodworking. He made many beautiful pieces that will be treasured by his family forever. He also made all of the woodwork in their home when they updated it many years ago.
Tony is survived by his wife of over 61 years and caregiver for the past 20 plus years, Gladys (nee Stahl). He is also survived by five children: Tony Ledvina, Las Vegas, NV; Tim (Cathy), New Berlin, WI; Randy (Tammy), Green Bay, WI; Sue (Steve) Hendrikse, Sheboygan Falls, WI; and Rick (Sheryl) Ledvina, Green Bay, WI. He is further survived by 11 grandchildren, Christopher (Jessica), Katie (Kory), Beth, Quinn, Nick, Michael, Stephanie (Russ), Nathan (Becca), Ryan, Sean, and Hana; as well as two great-grandchildren, Rylee and Adrian; a brother, Bob (Carol) Ledvina; a sister, Janet Salentine; a brother-in-law, John Carrier, and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Martha Ledvina; a sister, Karen Carrier; a brother-in-law, Lloyd Salentine; and two grandchildren, John and Rebecca Hendrikse.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Rank, Tony's long-time physician; the entire staff at Woodside Nursing Home, Unity Hospice staff, and to his special caregivers Andi, Melody, and Bob.
Visitation and a celebration of Tony's life will be held at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 S. Oneida Street, Green Bay, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, June 3. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Saturday at the church with Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.
