Anthony Richard Kasper, age 89, passed from this life into eternal life on February 13, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. He was born July 6, 1934, in Duck Creek, WI, the only child of Antone and Clara (Huben) Kasper.  Richard was a graduate of Green Bay West High School class of 1952.

He married the love of his life, Mary Ann Krausert, on July 16, 1955.  They enjoyed more than 68 years together, and their marriage and love for each other were a model and inspiration for their five children.

Richard wanted to be a high school social studies teacher but did not have the means to attend college.  Instead, the day after his high school graduation he took a bookkeeping job with Hartman Wholesale – a local building material distributor. Several years later Richard was able to buy the business. Over the years, due in large part to his entrepreneurial skills and work ethic, it became Amerhart, Ltd., and grew to be the largest independent building material wholesaler in the Midwest, with 12 warehouses in 6 states employing over 300 people. Richard built his life and business on integrity and helped many others achieve their American Dream. In addition to providing jobs to hundreds of people over the years, Richard also gave freely of his time by volunteering with many non-profit organizations like the St. Agnes Athletic Club and Boy Scouts when he was younger and Habitat for Humanity after he retired. He also gave of his time for professional organizations. He was a board member for the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and was President of the National Building Material Distributors Association among others.

Richard and Mary lived life to the fullest.  Their faith was and is a central and essential part of their lives.  They loved to travel. Stories of their cruises and trips to Las Vegas with friends and family are legendary (and we have the pictures to prove it!)  He also greatly enjoyed fishing, bowling and golf. They spent winters on Marco Island, Florida, for more than 30 years, where they built a large group of friends and provided innumerable memorable vacations for their children and grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his wife Mary, (Lovie) whose love and care for Richard throughout his life and until the very end was unfailing and inspiring.  He is also survived by his children, Mark & Julie Kasper, Cindy & Rick Johnson, Mary & Dale Anderson, and Sheri & Mark Hank; his grandchildren, Alyssa Trawitzki, Taylor Kasper & fiancée Brittany Gravely, Chad & Heather Warpinski, Ashley & Houawah Xiong, Bryan & Liz Anderson, Brad Anderson and special friend Andrea Fields, Sam Hank & fiancée Samantha Wood, John Hank & special friend Faith VanHeuklon, Alex Williams, Britney Williams; 20 great-grandchildren and in-laws Bob & Debbie Krausert.

Richard was greeted in heaven by his parents, Antone & Clara; his in-laws, Herman and Catherine Krausert; his daughter, Michelle Williams, his grandsons, Preston Pearson and Joseph Trawitzki; and his in-laws, Jerry & Lorraine Krausert, James & Brenda Krausert, and Karen & Roger Schuh.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Caretta Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice for their loving help and care for Richard, Mary and our entire family, as well as Father Dillenburg for his faithful comfort and friendship throughout their lives.
