Annika Hendricksen, age 10, passed away on July 2nd 2025. She was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Annika was a wonderful little girl. She had a great sense of humor, always smiling at the most unexpected point of any movie she was watching. Her favorite color was black, which is hilarious for a cute little girl. She loved to watch Disney movies and when she would get tired of a movie, instead of changing it, she would change the language. Her favorite language was Dutch. But she also liked Chinese, Romanian and she would watch Pocahontas in French. Annika had many physical limitations but she could communicate through an eye gaze computer and control her movies in this way. When she was little she hated loud noises but in the last year, as part of her youthful rebellion, she loved to play her movies at full volume and did so until she blew out the speakers on her device.

For eight years Annika was involved in a medical trial through Gillette Children's Hospital in St. Paul for a treatment to help her condition which is called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. The trials showed the treatment to be safe and effective and now, children that receive the treatment from birth are developing normally. We are proud that Annika was part of this. She loved to leave the house, look up at the trees, hear the birds, and go on trips to Door County, the beach and museums. Annika was involved in several programs such as CP Center, Birth Through Three, Healthy Families and Bay Covenant Church whose love and support we appreciate very much.

Annikas sweet smile touched the hearts of everyone who met her. She blessed many people with her gentle, loving presence. She will be loved by everybody who ever met her and tremendously missed.
