Annette M. Janssen, 90, De Pere, Wisconsin passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024. She was born November 17, 1933, in Kent, Il to Glen and Josephine (Dittmar) Wachter.

Annette grew up on the family farm and was a graduate of Stockton High School in Stockton, Il. She went on to attend nursing school in Freeport, Il to become an RN. Annette became pen pals with a local boy, Gerald Janssen while he was stationed in Alaska with the Air Force. They married on October 9, 1955 and together they had three boys. In 1963, Gerald took a job in Wauwatosa and Annette became a nurse at Lakeview Hospital. After their retirement, Annette and Gerald moved to Arkansas for 27 years and then moved to Green Bay to be closer to family. She was dedicated to her faith and was an active member of the Lutheran Church. Annette's happy place was at their cottage on White Lake near Weyauwega, Wisconsin and going on cruises. Altogether she went on five cruises, of which she enjoyed the Caribbean the most. Annette enjoyed gardening, flowers, knitting, and baking. She was always willing to make a special cake for family members' birthdays. Annette adored being a grandma and great-grandma and cherished the time she spent with her family. She was a huge fan of Wisconsin sports teams, especially the Packers and Brewers and enjoyed watching most sports.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald; children, Steven (Karen) Janssen, Doug Janssen, Brian (Sheril) Janssen; grandchildren, Samantha Boetcher, Kevin (Cassidy) Janssen, Lauren (Jimmy) Xiong, Corey Janssen, Hayley Janssen; great-grandchildren, Briar and Bjorn Janssen, Miller Xiong; siblings, Glenda Morey, Russell Wachter, Alta Schramm, Roger Wachter, Joyce Nienhuis, Beverly Coleman; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Josephine; siblings, Gerald Wachter, Carson Wachter, Keith Wachter.

Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 13; Service to follow at 11:30 a.m. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com .

For friends and family unable to attend in Wisconsin, a visitation will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2700 W Stephenson St, Freeport, IL 61032, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 20; Service to follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial to immediately follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
