Anne was born November 10, 1916 as Eleanor Anne White in the quaint Illinois town of Hillsboro. Anne was the second of five children, John B, Jane, Polly, and Bill. She had a happy childhood, graduated college and lived in Chicago. In college, she met her husband-to-be, George French. He served in WWII as a flight instructor at Montgomery Airfield, Alabama, where they were married. He and Anne had four children, George Jr. (Bev), John (Janet), Nancy (Kevin), and Stephen.

After the war Anne and George moved around living in St Louis, Chicago and then up to Fond Du Lac Wisconsin where George went into business for himself.

In 1972 George Sr. passed away and Anne retired to Arizona. She resided in Tucson and then Tubac for the next 25 years and had many friends there including her special friend and caretaker, Michael Cox. Anne continued to visit George Jr. and Beverly French in Wisconsin & Illinois on holidays. She spent her last few months with the French and Gaura families in Green Bay.

Everyone who met Anne loved her. She was a social butterfly, witty, generous and outgoing. She loved to be with her family and friends. She was surrounded by her family when she died peacefully, without suffering on Friday, April 24, 2015. She knew she had a good life; long and full of adventure. We should all aspire to live such a life as Anne did.

Anne is survived by her children; her grandchildren, George lll, Jessica, Erika (Shane), Craig (Margo), Nathaniel, Emily (Charles), Abby (Charlie), Katie (Chris), Yates (Amanda), and John. She is further survived by her great grandchildren, Kalista, Madeline, Jack, Andrew, Colin, Kiera, Eiley, Nora, Henry and Michael as well as special friend to the family, Julie (Claes) Hultgren.

The family extends a special thank you to all her beloved nieces and nephews in the White and Gaura families and also to all her friends and caretakers at GranCare.
