Anna Fern Martens, 96, Green Bay, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025. She was born February 24, 1929, in Coleman, WI to Walter and Julia (Durocher) Krejcarek.
Fern grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School. She was a lifelong Catholic. Fern worked on the weekly bulletin for St. John the Baptist in addition to volunteering for numerous other activities and charities. She married Donald "Don" Martens in Coleman on June 24, 1950. They just celebrated their 75th anniversary. Fern loved to play bridge and started many bridge playing groups. She was a master player and always played a good game. Fern enjoyed golfing and traveling with a group of friends and especially enjoyed her yearly skiing trips.
She is survived by her husband, Don; children, Nanci Martens, Dean (Linda) Martens, Cathy (Gregg Gretzinger) Freis, Cindy (Steve) Hughes, Linda Brown, James Martens, Jeffrey Martens, Michele (Phil) Hofer; grandchildren, Jason (Erin), Joshua (Katie), Jenny (Jon), Chad (Erin), Julie (Luke), Aaron (Kate), Nicki (Dave), Bryan, Becky (Joel), Billy, Crystal, Tamara (Mitch), Kori, Tyler, Clifford (Zach), Shenna, Jessica (Max), Owen (Emily), Alex (Evan), Chelsea; 23 great-grandchildren; siblings, Melvin Krejcarek, Marilu Kust, Deanne (Ken) Brosig; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Fern was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Martens; parents, Walter and Julia; grandson, Neal Prosek; daughters-in-law, Sherri Neff-Martens, Shirley Radford; six siblings; and in-laws.
Friends and family will gather at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave., (The entrance is directly across from BP gas station on Glendale Ave.) from 10am to 11:30am on Wednesday, November 12; Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30am.
