Isabelle Marie Halloin, 84, Green Bay, passed from this life Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010. Isabelle was born Dec. 2, 1925, to Celia and Dominic Mastricola in Redgranite, Wis. After high school, Isabelle attended Milwaukee State Teacher’s College and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumental Music Education. Her first teaching job was at Luxemburg High School where she met her future husband, Samuel Halloin. They were married on June 20, 1949. Together, they had five children, and moved to Green Bay where Sam continues to live. Sam and Isabelle were married for 61 years.
Isabelle was a loving wife and mother. She taught instrumental music in the Green Bay area until her retirement in 1985. Isabelle also performed with the Green Bay City Band for 50 years, the Green Bay Symphony, the Silver Cornet Band and many other free-lance ensembles on her French Horn. After school, Isabelle joined her friends in bowling league, golf club, and church choir at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She also played an active role in her husband’s political career.
Isabelle is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Samuel J. Halloin; a daughter, Mary Halloin and her son, James Hansen; a daughter, Ann Halloin and spouse, Judith Webb; a son, Dr. Tom Halloin and spouse, Linda and their children, Tony and wife, Noelle, Peter, Evan and wife, Margaret; a daughter, Beth McDonald and spouse, Bruce and their children, Sara, Annie and Jack; two brothers, Peter and Gust Mastricola; many nieces, nephews and cousins whom Isabelle dearly loved.
Isabelle was preceded in death by her parents, Dominic and Celia Mastricola; and her son, Sammy Halloin, Jr.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Visitation will continue at St. Joseph Catholic Church, corner of Ninth St. and 12th Ave., from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Donald Everts officiating. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
