Edna L. Sobiek, 78 years old, a longtime resident of the Village of Howard, died Saturday, July 8, 2006. Edna was born on June 7, 1919, in Green Bay, to the late Frank and Mary (Eisenrich) Miller. On June 24, 1939, she married Raymond Sobiek. He preceded her in death on February 24 of this year. Edna enjoyed hunting and fishing with her family and her friends. She also loved being with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Jane Ysebaert, Green Bay; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Kathy Sobiek, Ogema, Wis.; a son-in-law, Dominic Gierczak, Green Bay; her grandchildren, Vicky (Jeff) McIntyre, Gary Gierczak, Ricky Gierczak, Terry Balistriere, John (Stacey Stephani) Ysebaert, Jim (Sharon) Ysebaert, Phillip (Sue) Sobiek, Laura (Eric) Ohlwiler, nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; a daughter, Carol Gierczak; and a brother, Raymond Miller.
Friends may call at Blaney funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 14. The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. John Bergstadt officiating. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Howard.
