Marie C. Stencil

Marie C. Stencil, 85, Green Bay, died Thursday, July 14, 2011. She was born Aug. 5, 1925, to Frank Deneys and Mary (Christens) Deneys-Morrow. Marie graduated from Green Bay West High School. During World War II, Marie worked as a secretary in Annapolis, Md., for the Naval Department office responsible for PT boat supplies. On Aug. 3, 1946, she married Raymond Stencil in Green Bay. Marie was a member of Annunciation Parish and a member of the Parish Prayer Chain for many years. Marie and Raymond enjoyed summers at their cottage on Green Bay. She enjoyed great times riding the bus to casinos with her sisters and friends. At 83 years of age, her spark for life continued, as she experienced riding on the back of a Harley with her grandson, Rob Adams, and loved every minute of it.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will always be remembered first and foremost, for her love of God, her devotion to the Blessed Mother and her everlasting love for her children and grandchildren. Marie devoted her life to the Lord and her six children. Her unconditional love for her children and the Catholic faith was a guiding force throughout all their lives.

Survivors include six children, Sandra (Paul) Zylich, Sue Ann (Robert) Byrne, Joseph (Cyndee) Stencil, Kathleen (Steven) Krueger, Mary (Steven) Kolarik, DeDe (Joseph) Micheau; 11 grandchildren, Sherri (William) Peeters, Robert (Susan) Darrow, DeDe (Robert) Adams, Jaymee (Jeremy) Suiter, Jenifer Stencil (special friend, Brandyn Frye), Jessica Stencil (special friend, Cooper Dempsey), Jason Metzner (special friend, Alena Lannoye), Jesse Metzner, Nicholaus Metzner, Justin Micheau (special friend, Nikki Wuelling), Jon Paul Micheau (fiancée, Jenna Adams); nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson (making five generations); a sister, LaVerne Lasee; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Betty Deneys, Reneta Stencil, Richard Stencil, Milton and LaVerne Mancosky, Carlton and Ethel Stencil, Joyce Stencil, Mary Jane Walton; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her parents, Frank and Mary Deneys; her stepfather, George Morrow; her sisters, Irene Williquette, Beatrice Boutott, Evelyn Poels, Milda Ness; a brother, Ronald Deneys; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lawrence Williquette, Albert Boutott, Clarence Poels, Raymond Lasee, James Stencil, George and Delores Mancosky, LeRoy Stencil and Carol Belland.

Friends may call at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St., from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Donald Everts officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
